Usui & Karuna Reiki

USUI REIKI

Reiki is a form of complementary therapy relating to energy healing. Proponents say that it works with the energy fields around the body and involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to the client.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

It is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands on or just above different areas of the body. It’s based on an Eastern medicine belief that living beings have energy fields that support their health and vitality.

The Buddhist priest Mikao Usui (known as Usui-Sensei) in the 1920s experienced Reiki energy after three weeks of fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama, a sacred mountain in the north of Kyoto, Japan. Though he had been starving and near death from fasting, the burst of intense healing energy gave him a sense of vitality and awareness that he’d never felt before. Shortly after his experience, Usui opened a clinic in Tokyo to practice the healing technique.

Reiki classes are taught all over the country and in many parts of the world.

Who Might Want to Try Reiki? Are There Any Risks?

“There are no [reported significant] dangers in undergoing Reiki. Reiki can do no harm and has no side effects.

Reiki should never be an invasive treatment. Reiki practitioners should have worked in-person with a qualified Reiki master to be able to effectively deliver the treatment.

What to Expect at Your First Reiki Session ?

Reiki sessions vary in length, but they often last between 60 and 90 minutes. It is recommended to Wear loose  and comfortable clothes. During the session, the practitioner will place his or her hands lightly on or near your body in a series of hand positions, including positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and the feet, as well as other positions depending on the client’s needs. Each hand position is held for roughly 3 to 10 minutes, depending on what the client needs in each position. The practitioner may or may not talk during the session, but typically there’s very little talking.

Expect to feel deeply relaxed during the session. people enter a deep meditative state that helps restore the nervous system. Yet, personal experiences vary widely and can be related to many factors, including characteristics of the practitioner, so be open to whatever emerges for you and then discuss after the session with the practitionerWhat are the three levels of reiki?

What are the three levels of reiki?

Reiki Level I:  Level I attunement makes a person capable of healing others hands on. …

Reiki Level II. This level is atleast four times more powerful than Reiki I. In this we are taught different kind of symbols and we are able to do distant healing…

Reiki Level IIIA. A person attuned to this level is called a ‘Master Healer‘ and one Master symbol is given to that person through which he/ she can connect to many people at a time and do grid healing.

Reiki Level IIIBA person is attuned to become a Master Teacher and now that person is capable of teaching and attuning others.

What Is A Reiki Attunement ?

Through the attunement process, the Reiki Master will facilitate the connection to the universal life force energy. This will allow you to use Reiki at its full potential.

Attunement is what makes reiki unique from other forms of healing touch and energy work. This ceremony, called Reiju (Ray-joo) in Japanese, is performed by the reiki master during each level to open and expand the main energy channels of the student’s body, allowing universal energy, also known as Qi/Chi/Ki, to flow more freely and deeply through them. It tends to clear blockages in the body and can lead to significant energy changes within the individual. Many will undergo an intense period of self-growth following their attunements. You can think of the attunement process like a transfer of energy: The master is passing energy off to the student, who will then possess it for life.

KARUNA REIKI

It is taught only to level two practitioners of Usui Reiki and the Karuna Reiki mastership is given only to Usui Reiki masters.

Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Zen. When individualexperience enlightenment, they report that all beings are known as one. Karuna is themotivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working to end suffering on Earth. As you develop Karuna in yourself, not only are you helping others, but you also become morereceptive to the Karuna that is being sent by all enlightened beings. Thus your healing isquickened as well.  Karuna is compassion and as we develop it we find ourselves more in tunewith the universe. Healing comes naturally. We see oneness in all of creation.

Karuna Reiki is a system of Reiki that was created by Reiki Master William Lee Rand as a result of his extensive work and research with healing methods. During his many years of practice, he came across various systems and symbols that were being used by healers. He studied the systems and worked with the energy levels of the different healing symbols and incorporated the ones he found to have the best energy and formulated an attunement process by which one could access these symbols and use them in healing. He called the new system Karuna Reiki. The method of healing is the same as in Usui Reiki with the additional use of Karuna Reiki Symbols.

By incorporating Karuna Reiki with Traditional or Usui Reiki we are much more empowered.

Karuna Reiki facilitates:

  • Addictive behavior
  • allergies
  • anxiety
  • chakra balancing
  • chemotherapy

  • karmic issues
  • mental focus and grounding
  • physical injuries-emergencies
